The City of Mechelen and Lumière have transformed the old assembly hall – Oude Stadsfeestzaal – into a new cultural attraction that oozes character. The interior has retained its original features and authentic atmosphere, so you can indulge in nostalgia while enjoying a comfortable movie experience.
Make an evening of it with a drink and perhaps something to eat at LUX28 before and/or after the show. City brewery Het Anker opened this delightful café and restaurant on the walkway of the same building, with a view of its magnificent architecture.
Accessibility
City Cinema Lumière is accessible for wheelchair users. The following facilities are available:
- The entrance door all the way to the right has no steps. If you ring the bell, someone will come to assist you.
- There is an elevator to all floors and to LUX28.
- Each theater has designated spaces for wheelchair users.
- There is an adapted restroom available.
