The Human Rights Walk takes you on a journey to visit Mechelen’s less illuminated places, facts and heroes – and the dark chapters of the city’s history. For example, the walk stops at the Kazerne Dossin Memorial, which symbolises one of the greatest violations of human rights. In addition, the walk highlights positive human rights concepts of hope and resistance in Mechelen’s historical context. Contemporary immigration stories are also discussed. A visit to the City Hall is included, subject to availability.
